Always jealous of Weather Channel corespondents, my sister and I decided to take a run in the outskirts of Hurricane Irene this morning. The kite surfers were only out there for about 15 minutes before the wind and rain got too strong to control to the kite. We fought our way back too, taking us 4x longer to get back to our house than it did to get to the inlet. Irene has been getting worse, faster, ever since. The skys are dark and the trees are dancing while the rain is turning into rocks with a tailwind propelling it through the air. Thankfully the birds and other animals in the area are huddled safely together under vacant houses. Hold on and be safe NC-NY, she’s not a pretty sight.
